We know the feeling when you see one of your favorite influencers modeling a fabulous get up that you need to get your hands on. When you click the link provided, a chill runs down your spine as just one of the pieces is about double your last paycheck. Just me? Whether you’re a broke college student or just want to look on trend on a budget, this month’s blog is for you. Keep in mind that all of these trends are coming from various fashion forward company’s runway shows, and from there, we pick our favorite elements that we predict will make it down to mass acceptance and fast fashion.
Now, Before we get started, I want to share a tip that I have implemented into my online shopping efforts (or obsession) that makes the whole process a little less daunting and will help you avoid sifting through 76 websites looking for a purple dress. Create a note on your phone with Categories and under each catergory, put about 5-10 websites of styles and price points that match yours. So when the time comes to search for an item, you already know what websites to head to first for each desired item. For example:

Perfectly Imperfect
We are seeing a lot of styles that evoke a sense of “unfinishedness.” This is a classic way to tie down a piece to make it more casual whilst still remaining fashionable and on trend. We see a lot of these “happy mistake” pieces in pattch work, frayed jeans, and mesh tops. This is definitely a trend to look out for.

Moto Leather
Obviously, leather is not new to the fashion industry. However, it is not normally seen this much in warmer temperatures. With all the dyes and faux leather to go around, there is no secret that pairing a summer dress with a leather accessory is cool now. Lot’s of brands are coming out with leather, intense purses to bring your edgy look together as well as leather skirts that range from maxi to mini.

Bold Bottoms
Ah, color in spring — how unique. Or I think Miranda Priestly said it better, “florals? In spring? Groundbreaking…” Anyways, it is something we saw a lot of on the runway, so I’m documenting it no matter how obvious it is. The bold blues, pinks, and greens are here to stay for another season. And they will definitely been seen in bottoms now more than ever. This is a perfect yet functional statement piece.

Making a Statement
My fifth grade self never thought I would see the day that chunky, statement jewelry came back in style. The only difference between the once shining Charming Charlie jewelry and the bulky accessories you may see on your pinterest board today is the tarnishability. People value the metals and people value even more when the metals stay their true tone and don’t turn their skin green. So, bring on the big, heavy metals — but please, don’t turn after one wear.

The Layering Lounge
The last trend that we have seen a lot of on runways from Mui Mui to YSL, is the amount of layers each model was wearing. Layering, while not a new thought, will be prominent this season, as it allows for dimension in a basic outfit. People now more than ever are valuing a consistent uniform (white tee and jeans), so adding a pop of color or patterned element, is the perfect way to make a classic outfit unique. Places to shop for this look would be H&M, Zara, J. Crew, etc.
